Editorial Policy
How this content is researched, sourced and corrected.
General information, not medical advice. Every baby is different — if anything worries you, speak to your midwife, health visitor or GP rather than waiting.
Our sources
Health content here is built from published guidance rather than from other blogs. In practice that means:
- NHS — pregnancy, newborn care and weaning guidance
- American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) — infant sleep, feeding and safety
- World Health Organization (WHO) — breastfeeding and complementary feeding
- Peer-reviewed research where guidance is unsettled or recently revised
Each guide carries the sources used at the foot of the page.
Who writes and who reviews
Guides are written and edited by Dilawar Mughal, founder and editor. No one on this site is a medical professional.
Where a guide covers a higher-risk topic — safe sleep, allergen introduction, illness signs — we aim to have it reviewed by a qualified professional before publication, and the reviewer is named on the page. Guides that have not been reviewed carry no reviewer name, so you can always tell which is which.
Where we draw the line
Some things do not belong on a website written by a non-clinician, however well researched:
- Medication doses
- Whether a specific symptom is serious
- Feeding plans for a baby with a diagnosed condition
- Anything replacing a scheduled check
On those, the page will tell you to call someone qualified. That is not us being cautious for form’s sake — it is the correct answer.
Updates and corrections
Infant guidance changes, and pages that were right three years ago can be wrong now. Guides carry a last-updated date, and material corrections are noted on the page rather than quietly edited.
If you spot something wrong, email bsri4263@gmail.com. Corrections from health professionals are especially welcome and will be actioned quickly.
Affiliate links
Some product links earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Commission never affects what is recommended, nothing is included solely because it pays, and where a product genuinely is not needed we say so. Affiliate links are marked and use rel="sponsored".
Advertising and sponsorship
We do not accept paid guest posts, paid link insertions, or sponsored content presented as editorial. If that ever changes it will be disclosed here and labelled on the page.
